Yamal El Sham
À La Maison de la Syrie, notre coeur penche naturellement vers les terres du Sham. Venus de Damas, Beyrouth, Alep, Baghdad ou Jérusalem, les Shawams,tels que nous appellent les autres arabes, parlent, mangent, dansent et chantent un arabe qui se ressemble. Une langue sensiblement variée selon les régions,le Nord ou le Sud, le désert ou la montagne, la ville ou la campagne.
Les Shawams connaissent tous ce soleil éclatant, ces paysages de craie blanche, ces forêts de cèdre, ces champs de coton et ces vergers de pistachiers et d’agrumes.Ils savent le goût de la rose et la richesse de la soie, la mousse du savon d’Alepet les chants rauques et doux des premiers temples.
Les Shawams partagent aussi, tristement, des temps bien sombres. Les promesses de paix, de liberté et d’abondance qu’ils chantent n’ont pas été tenues. Ils connaissent la guerre, le déchirement, l’éclatement, la migration. Et pourtant… cette terre n’était-elle pas faite pour le lait et le miel, la rose et le laurier?
De concert avec tous ceux qui viennent du Sham, nous vous invitons à chanterYamal El-Sham, cet hymne venu d’Alep, célèbre dans toute la région. Avec l’espoir que la musique favorisera l’oubli des jours sombreset le retour du shams, le soleil.
يا مالِ الشام
في « بيتِ سورية » يَميلُ قلبُنا بالطبعِ نحو بلاد الشامِ.
الشامِيُّون، كما تُسَمٌِينا بقية الشعوب العربية، نحنُ القادمون من دمشق و بيروت و حلب و بغداد و القدس،نتكلَّمُ و نأكل و نرقص و نغنِّي بلغةٍ واحدةٍ تَتَنوَّعُ قليلًا حسبَ المناطق :الشمال أو الجنوب، البادِية أو الجبَل، المدينة أو البلد.
لكن كلنا يعرفُ هذه الشمسَ الساطعة، و هذه المناظِر الحُوَّارِيَّة البيضاء، و غابات الأرزِ و حقول القُطنِو بساتين الفُستُق الحَلبِيِّ و الحمضِيَّات. كلنا نعرف طعم الوردة الدمشقِيَّة و غِنى الحريرو رغوة صابون الغارِ الحلبيِّ و ترنيماتِ المعابد الأولى الرخيمة و العميقة الناعمة.
يجمَعُنا حُزنٌ و أوقاتٌ مظلمة و عصيبة . وُعودٌ بالسلام و الحُرِيَّةِ و الرَخاء لا تَتَحقَّق و لا يُوفى بها.نُعاني الحربَ و التمزٌُق و التشَتٌُتَ و الهجرة …لكن ألم يكن قدرهذه الأرض أن تكون أرضًا للحليب و العسل و الورد و الغار؟
لِنُغَنِّي سوِيَّةً: يا مالِ الشام ، هذا الَّلحنُ المعروف في جميع أنحاءِ سورية،فرُبَّما ستُساعدنا هذه الأغنية على نسيان الأيام المظلمة و على رجوع شمسنا.
Yamal El Sham
At The House of Syria, our heart gravitates towards the land of Sham. The Shawams, as referred to by other arabs,speak, eat dance and sing a united languageyet different depending on the region,North or South, desert or mountain, city or countryside.
The Shawams all know the brilliant sun, the limestone speckled scenery,the cedar forests, the cotton fields and the pistachio orchards. They have all tasted the rose and raveled in the richness of silk, the foam of Aleppo soapand the soft melodious chants of the first temples.
The Shawams also share dark and difficult times.The promises of peace, freedom and abundance aren’t fulfilled.They know war, destruction implosion and immigration. Yet… isn’t this an ideal land for warm milk and sweet honey, roses and laurel?
Together with all those who come from Sham, we invite you to chantYamal El-Sham, this hymn that comes from Aleppo and is notorious in the region.With the hopes that music will help us forget the dark daysand bring back the shams, the sun.
